Lorac Pro 2 Palette vs Lorac Pro Palette

So I am a huge fan of the Lorac Pro Palette, I've had mine for about a year now and have loved it and used it consistently. When I heard Lorac was coming out with a second palette I was a little too excited and immediately pre-ordered it online, as well as an original palette for my best friend.

I thought since I received both at the same time that I would do a first impression and a comparison. In their packaging they are almost identical and I was worried they had sent me two of the same palette but there is a tiny 2 on the second palette, but other than that they are identical down to the travel size Lorac eye primer that comes with the palette.

(I also got a free Lorac Cobra mascara which is okay, it's not an amazing mascara and doesn't really give much volume. For some reason it clumps on me like no other and makes my lashes look spidery. It would probably work best on a chica with think lashes looking for separation and definition.)

The packaging and shades are similar to the original, matte waxy cover with a large mirror and the names of the shadows printed underneath each one. The kept the same trend of matte on top and shimmer on bottom as the original, which I always thought was a plus because there is no way to confuse any mildly shimmery with a matte.

My first impression is that it is much cooler than the original, the colors are more blue/green toned with the browns and warmer colors tending towards pink and rose toned shades. The shadows are the same Lorac consistency, extremely soft and pigmented, as well as super easy to work with and blend.

For yellow toned or darker girlies that are apprehensive about cooler tones on their skin have no fear, the shades are extremely wearable and do not clash or contrast with my yellow skin tone. I think Lorac does really well with choosing shades that suit all skin tones but are toned cool or warm in a palette together.

(UPDATE) I've had the palette for a few weeks now and my favorite colors for everyday are chrome, cool grey and beige. Jade and Silver are stunning and would be great for night out looks but I haven't managed to use them in everyday looks yet.

Looking at the palette's side by side the original is definitely the more neutral and basic of the two. It has your essential matte and shimmer brown tones with a matte black and brown and complimentary accent shades in red, purple and silver. Nothing overwhelmingly exciting but a must have staple piece.

I would say if you have the original already buy the second, if not for the shade chrome alone. Seriously that shadow is amazing and if I could I would buy it by itself and horde them. If you don't have the original then buy the original and see how you like it, if you love the shadows and they work for you then buy the second to add to your collection.

Overall they are both great palettes that work well with any skin tone and will give you long lasting beautiful shadows in a range of different colors. I definitely prefer them to the naked palettes any day, honestly don't even bother with the naked palettes unless you want the rose gold one because it's unique. Two thumbs up from me!!!

Trend: Silver Coin Statement Necklaces

Something I have seen quite a lot of lately on beauty blogger and the like are silver statement necklaces with coins or charms in an old world Romanesque style. I thought I would add to my collection of statement jewelry with these two pieces from H&M.

It seems that everyone has the crusader necklace from shop dixi which is available here (It's currently sold out but you can request to be put on the waitlist) But that's a little expensive (L38) for those on a budget and I thought the H&M one was an affordable alternative, I think it was around $25 but I bought it during a sale and got it 15% off. It is definitely a statement piece, a little bit rock and roll and a little bit greek goddess.

The other necklace is actually 2 necklaces combined, I bought both a gold and silver coin necklace and decided that there were not enough coins on either necklace so I attached both colored coins to the silver chain for a mixed metal effect. It's not as statement as the first necklace but it's a good every day piece for summer. Both necklaces were on sale for $3 each and I couldn't pass it up.
